Frequently Asked Questions

What is Red Clover?

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense) is a plant that is commonly found across Europe, Asia and parts of North America. It belongs to the legume family and flowers of the plant are found to have therapeutic properties.

Scientific studies have shown that Red Clover contains isoflavones, which has estrogen-like properties. Isoflavones have been shown to have beneficial effect on menopausal symptoms, cardiovascular health and bone health.

What is Menoflavon® used for?

Menoflavon® supports the management of mild to moderate symptoms of menopause, such as hot flushes and night sweats. It may also support the management of cardiovascular health and bone health.

What is the recommended duration for taking Menoflavon®?

You may start noticing the benefits of Menoflavon® within 3 to 8 weeks. Thereafter, continue using Menoflavon® to maintain the benefits.

Are there any known drug-supplement interactions I should be aware of?

Antibiotics may reduce the healthy bacteria in your gut and make it harder for your body to metabolise Menoflavon®. Absorption of Menoflavon® may also be reduced if taking certain stomach remedies, such as H₂ antagonists or proton pump inhibitors.

Taking probiotics along with Menoflavon® capsule may help to restore healthy gut bacteria and help your gut absorb the isoflavones in Menoflavon®.

Who should not take Menoflavon®?

Menoflavon® is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation. If you are currently taking any form of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or prescription medicine, please speak with your healthcare professional who can inform you about the benefits and risks of all available treatment options.

Is Menoflavon® recommended for women with a history of breast cancer or endometrial cancer?

Studies show that Menoflavon® does not have a negative effect on endometrial thickness or mammographic breast density, especially in women with family history of breast cancer. However, always seek medical advice from your healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns regarding the use of Red Clover.

How does Menoflavon® differ from other Red Clover products and soy?

Red Clover products can vary widely in their quality and composition. Many products made from Red Clover blossoms may contain little or no isoflavones. Unlike these products, Menoflavon® uses a standardised Red Clover extract that delivers a consistent 40mg of isoflavones per capsule. It is formulated with a balanced ratio of four key isoflavones to ensure optimal support.

Red Clover and soy are from the same family of plants. However, Red Clover is distinguished by containing four active isoflavones, whereas soy contains only two. Additionally, long-term consumption of Menoflavon® has been shown to be tolerable and relatively safe for consumption by women.
